Lakewood Heritage, Culture & the Arts kicks off the
summer season with a free Rockin’ Block party June 8
May 8, 2019 – The City of Lakewood honors the city’s rich heritage and its dedicated residents each year by hosting a free party to kick off the summer season from 5 to 11 p.m., Saturday, June 8, at the Lakewood Heritage Center, 801 S. Yarrow St. This year, in celebration of Lakewood’s 50th Anniversary, party like it’s 1969 at Rockin’ Block, an evening of free live music from 4 Lads From Liverpool, a Beatles tribute band, with opening act Soul Sacrifice, a Santana tribute band.
Fun is in store for all ages with activities for children, live music, affordable food trucks, The Beer Garden presented by Foothills Credit Union and an outdoor movie screening of “The Love Bug.” For party details, visit Lakewood.org/RockinBlock
Rockin’ Block also concludes Lakewood’s INSPIRE Arts Week, May 30 through June 8, a 10-day annual festival that features free and discounted arts and cultural events presented by more than 15 Lakewood partner organizations.
